Armstrong Pumpkin Patch and Petting Zoo

This small family farm is the best business to highlight in October. They have been growing and selling pumpkins, gourds, and squash for 16 years and every year they keep getting better! This year they added a sales barn behind the house loaded with different varieties of pumpkins from the traditional pie and Jack-O-Lantern to pure white ones and brown ones covered in warts! Sprinkle in a few mini gourds and some squash and you are ready with your own stunning Halloween display. Every item is picked and hand washed before being placed in the sale barn or the wagons outside.

In addition to the sale barn, new this year is the petting farm. Bunnies, a cow, piglets, sheep, a goat, a momma donkey and her foal and of course the family dog are awaiting your arrival. For $0.25 you can purchase a little feed and hand feed the animals, making this a truly wonderful experience. For those that want to experience life on the farm – this year you can even pick your own pumpkins or squash! Spend an hour or two, feeding and petting the animals, selecting the perfect pumpkin for your Halloween display and support a local farmer.

If you would like a lesson in how to market your product to different types of customers – talk to Dave! He has a lot of experience and has tailored his approach to the differing tastes beautifully!

Festival of Lights Update

ree

Do you know anyone interested in entering a float or other type of display for the annual parade from the American Legion parking lot to the High School? We are welcoming all entries and are hoping to make this year’s event a dynamic display of lights and fun!

Santa will be upstairs at the Town Hall from 3-6 on Small Business Saturday November 27th, there will be Elf Stops all throughout town, a Treasure Hunt, crafts in the basement, and a Letter to Santa writing station. The PTO will have a craft sale from 9-3 at the high school and the parade will start around 6 or 6:30!

The Chamber puts on these festivals through generous donations from the SDDA and other area businesses, because it brings people to our community. Whether they are looking to sell something, buy something, or to simply check out what the area has to offer. These events are our opportunity to shine!
